What are tags?

Tags are keywords assigned to a person or recipe thus describing them and can be used for classification. Foodari uses tags so visitors to the site can classify, and then find, information using their own words and descriptions. The more tags added to recipes the more valuable they become. For instance if 1000 people have tagged a recipe as “easy” other users can rely on the information that the recipe is in fact easy!

What is the difference between searching tags, title and ingredients or searching any other combination?

Foodari provides visitors with the option of which information to search. By searching just tags for example you may search more subjective classifications like “easy” difficult” “dinner party” or “rich”. If a visitor has a specific ingredient requirement for a recipe they may search just the ingredients.

We advise that unless you are looking for something very specific that you search all 3 classifications.

What are My Exclusions?

Registered members of Foodari may set preferences for the recipes they search and are e-mailed by setting exclusions. Exclusions fall in to 2 categories – Ingredient and Nutritional.
Users should set ingredient exclusions if they have certain intolerances or religious dietary requirements. By doing so within the My Exclusions area you will omit these ingredients form your searches.
Users should set nutritional preferences to omit recipes by nutritional value. So for example if you are only interested in receiving recipes that are under a certain calorific value or have a certain GI content.

We must stress that while we strive to make this service as accurate as possible we encourage all users to check the detail of any recipe ahead of cooking or consumption
