I've travelled a lot and cooked alongside locals wherever I've been - Ecuador, Java, Nepal, Maroc, Croatia etc. as well as owning a couple of restaurants along the way. I avoid e-numbers & prepare most of what we eat from scratch - cheese excepted. And, um, my berry wines have never proved a hit, not even with me, and I'll drink (and eat) most things. 'Commensality' - eating (and drinking) together - is the one of the best bits of living.
